Application
Chexout.
Proof of authenticity, on a purpose-built chain. Chexout registers real photos, documents, music and voice recordings, video — any file — on its own proof-of-authority blockchain, screens them for AI generation, and lets anyone verify them later.

Already bought Chexout? to download it again.
One zip per system; there is no installer. By downloading or using Chexout you agree to the Chexout License Agreement. Checksums: SHA256SUMS.txt.
Paying
- Choose Download for your system, above. Your wallet opens — MetaMask, or any other Ethereum wallet in this browser — and connects if it has not yet.
- Check the payment it shows you: $98, turned
into ETH at Chainlink's ETH/USD rate at that moment, to
0x4F97D90D3A7d2E7f8FeD655dCa87438E910E422Bon Ethereum. - Approve it in your wallet. The payment goes from your wallet straight to that address; your wallet adds the network's own fee.
- The download starts once the network has confirmed the payment, usually within a minute.
You pay once. To download Chexout again, on another computer or when a new version is out, connect the same wallet on this page and sign in. Signing in is free and sends no transaction.
A payment on Ethereum cannot be reversed by anyone. If you paid and the download did not unlock, write to [email protected] with the transaction hash.
What it does
- Photos (JPEG / PNG) get the security strip: a thin band of coded pixels in the bottom-left corner that binds the image, cryptographically, to its chain record. Altering one pixel voids it.
- Everything else — PDF and office documents, audio, video, other image formats, any file — is anchored by the SHA-256 of its exact bytes. Nothing is added to the file.
- Screening before registration. Capture metadata and AI-generation fingerprints are checked first; a file that looks generated is not minted.
- Verification. Drop any file into the app: it shows whether it is registered, by which key, when, with its provenance history and a confidence score.
Installing
Chexout is not signed with a paid certificate, so each system asks once before it trusts it. That is expected.
- Windows. Your browser may say the file "isn't commonly downloaded" — choose Keep. Right-click the zip, choose Extract All, and open Chexout.exe from the extracted folder. When Windows says "Windows protected your PC", click More info, then Run anyway.
- macOS. Safari unzips the download for you; otherwise
double-click the zip. Drag Chexout.app into
Applications and open it. macOS will block the first attempt: on
macOS 15 and later, open System Settings → Privacy &
Security and click Open Anyway; on macOS 14
and earlier, right-click the app and choose Open. If
macOS says the app is "damaged", run
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/Chexout.appin Terminal — that is the download flag, not a broken file. - Linux. Extract the zip and run
./chexout. A minimal system may needlibgtk-3-0 libnss3 libxss1 libnotify4 libatspi2.0-0 libsecret-1-0andlibasound2t64(libasound2before Ubuntu 24.04). If it stops with a message about the SUID sandbox helper (Ubuntu 24.04 and later), run once in that folder:sudo chown root:root chrome-sandbox && sudo chmod 4755 chrome-sandbox.
The first time it starts, Chexout shows its license agreement and does nothing until it is accepted.
What this release is, and is not
- Each install runs its own chain. Nothing leaves your computer; duplicate protection and provenance are complete, but private to that install. A shared registry needs a chain node, which is not part of this release.
- Camera-metadata and device-captured records are capped at 85% confidence, never 100: no shipped client can yet prove its key lives in secure hardware. Desktop capture is labelled SIMULATED.
- Your key is a file in your app-data folder. There is no account and no recovery — the app tells you to export it and keep it safe.
- No auto-update, no telemetry, no account.
- Desktop only. The iOS and Android apps are not part of this release.
Checking a download
Compare the file's SHA-256 with the one shown under its button above, or with SHA256SUMS.txt:
- Windows (PowerShell):
Get-FileHash .\<file> - macOS:
shasum -a 256 <file> - Linux:
sha256sum -c SHA256SUMS.txt --ignore-missing
Updates
Chexout does not update itself or check for updates. New versions appear on this page; to upgrade, replace the app with the new download. Keys, records and the local chain live in your data folder and are kept.
Privacy
Chexout sends nothing anywhere. A packaged build was watched at the socket level and opened no connection that leaves the machine.
That covers the app. This website counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which uses no cookies. Buying sets one cookie, which is how the site knows that this browser has paid. The record of a purchase holds the wallet address and the transaction that paid, both public on Ethereum already, and no name, email or card.
License
Chexout costs $98, paid once. It is proprietary software, © 2026 Nem088. You may install and use it; you may not copy, redistribute, resell or reverse-engineer it. The full text is the Chexout License Agreement.
