Chexout License Agreement

CHEXOUT LICENSE AGREEMENT

This agreement is between you and Nem088 ("we", "us"), the owner of Chexout.
"Chexout" means the Chexout desktop application, including its code, user
interface, documentation and any updates we provide for it.

By clicking "Accept", or by installing or using Chexout, you agree to this
agreement. If you do not agree, do not install or use Chexout.

1. LICENSE

   We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license
   to install and use Chexout, in the form in which we distribute it, on
   computers you own or control, for your own personal or internal business
   purposes.

2. RESTRICTIONS

   Except as this agreement expressly allows, you may not, and may not allow
   anyone else to:

   (a) copy Chexout, other than the copies made in the normal course of
       installing and running it and one backup copy;
   (b) distribute, publish, share, sell, resell, rent, lease, lend,
       sublicense or otherwise transfer Chexout, or make it available to
       anyone else, including through a website, file-sharing service or
       network;
   (c) modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of Chexout;
   (d) reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble Chexout, or otherwise attempt
       to derive its source code, algorithms, data formats or protocols,
       except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits this despite
       this restriction; or
   (e) remove, alter or obscure any copyright, license or other notice in
       Chexout.

3. OWNERSHIP

   Chexout is licensed, not sold. We and our licensors keep all right, title
   and interest in Chexout, including all intellectual property rights in it.
   You receive no rights other than those this agreement expressly grants.

4. YOUR FILES, RECORDS AND KEYS

   You keep all rights in the files you register with Chexout and in the
   records you create with it. Chexout processes your files on your own
   computer and does not send your files, keys or usage information to us.
   If you point Chexout at a chain node, whoever operates that node receives
   the records and hashes you register or verify through it.

   Your private key is stored in your computer's app-data folder. We never
   receive it and cannot recover it. Keeping it, and keeping a backup of it,
   is your responsibility.

5. OPEN-SOURCE COMPONENTS

   Chexout includes third-party open-source components, including Electron,
   Chromium and the libraries listed in THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.txt. Each is
   licensed to you under its own terms, which accompany Chexout. Nothing in
   this agreement limits the rights those licenses give you in those
   components.

6. NO WARRANTY

   CHEXOUT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY
   KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING ANY WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY,
   FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

   Chexout's verification results and confidence scores are evidence, not
   proof. We do not warrant that any file is authentic, original or unaltered,
   that any record is correct, or that Chexout will detect AI-generated or
   manipulated content.

7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

   TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY
   INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY
   LOSS OF DATA, KEYS, RECORDS, PROFITS OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING
   TO CHEXOUT OR THIS AGREEMENT, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE
   POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THIS AGREEMENT WILL
   NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR CHEXOUT, IF ANY.

   Some jurisdictions do not allow some of these exclusions or limitations,
   so some of them may not apply to you.

8. TERMINATION

   This license continues until it ends. It ends automatically if you breach
   this agreement. You may end it at any time by deleting Chexout. When it
   ends, you must stop using Chexout and delete every copy of it. Sections 3,
   4, 6, 7 and 9 continue to apply after it ends.

9. GENERAL

   We may change this agreement. A changed agreement applies to the versions of
   Chexout distributed with it, and Chexout asks you to accept it before you
   use such a version. If any part of this agreement is held unenforceable, the
   rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it.
   This is the entire agreement between you and us about Chexout.
